Narrative
HOOD RIVER COUNTY, OR – One person was injured Friday as a result of a crash involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 84, in the Gorge near Multnomah Falls.
The accident, which caused one semi to overturn and scatter whole corn across the roadway, occurred on a stretch of westbound I-84 between Bridal Veil Falls and Cascade Locks.
It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck, but the driver of the rolled semi had to be taken by airlift to an area hospital. No other information about their condition has been made available.
Part of the roadway remained shut down for an extended time following the incident. Crews had westbound traffic in the area re-routed over the Bridge of the Gods toward westbound State Route 14.
It’s unclear at this time whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
