LANE COUNTY, OR – One person suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday evening, July 10, when they collided with a car while operating a motorcycle in northeast Eugene.
The incident was reported on Coburg Road at Rustic Place, near Oakway Center. Officers with the Eugene Police Department responded to the scene shortly before 6:00 p.m.
Officials said a driver in a Toyota Corolla was turning left off Rustic Place when the motorcyclist collided with the car at the intersection. At this time, speed on the part of the motorcyclist appears to have contributed to the accident.
A medical professional happened to witness the event and was able to intervene until first responders arrived on the scene. The rider, who was critically injured, was then rushed to a local hospital.
The driver of the Toyota, who was not reported hurt, remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation.
